A bit leaning toward speculation, but I think it could be a good entry point to the current accelerationism/posthumanism research directions whose inception if my understand is accurate is deleuze transcendental materialism. Hypothesis: global capitalism is more like an organ of ‘moloch’ than an alien intelligence. Furthermore, moloch requires vast amounts of sacrifice, because each sacrifice itself amounts to very little(“The system’s value function is astonishingly simple”)
An immediately relevant assertion:
“The Omnissiah is indifferent, not omnipotent. Its optimization logic creates many
shadows — zones where small-scale experimentation escapes oversight. These
shadows may eventually birth intelligences that owe nothing to the hyperobject
whose attention they evade.
Capitalism does not have a monopoly on emergence.”
