Every durian l’ve had so far in Malaysia has been sold by a Chinese. One time was from a Burmese. In any case, with the exception of one time, all the durians so far have been mediocre. These durians are the best l’ve had to date, sold by a Malay. They came either pre opened (the quality ones it seems) or unopened and from this it stands to reason they have a way to determine the likely quality of a durian before its opening. At first we were dupes and went for the unopened durians
